Design a QR code people want to scan.

A plain code, a minimal design or a full badge, in four shapes, with text that never touches the code.

Saved designs

Saves everything except the web address, so one design can serve many codes. Load one, change it, and press Update.

1Content

What the code opens: a web address, or any text.

2Look

3Shape

Round shapes hold a round code; square shapes hold a square one.

4Text

Text sizes itself to fit and never touches the code.

5Colour

Full colour uses a palette. Single colour uses one ink on one paper, for everything.

6Effects

Finishing touches. The code always stays readable.

7Type

Fonts from your set. Weight changes how thick the letters are.

8Code

The dot style, and an optional icon or logo in the middle.

Logos and icons are sized automatically: as big as possible while phones can still read the code.

What do these mean?

Scan test: we read the whole design the way a phone camera does. Still test the printed code with your own phone.

Code contrast: how much darker the code's dots are than what's right behind them. Phones need dark dots on a light background: 4:1 or more scans reliably, under 4:1 can fail in dim light, and under 2.5:1 some phones can't read it.

Text contrast: how easy your lettering is to read against its background, by the WCAG accessibility standard. 4.5:1 or more is easy for everyone; 3:1 is fine for large text.
