How to make one

  1. Enter your network name. Type the Wi-Fi name (SSID) exactly as it appears on phones, including capitals and spaces.
  2. Choose the security and add the password. Most networks use WPA/WPA2/WPA3. Pick "No password" for an open network.
  3. Pick a style and add your logo. Choose a preset or your own colours. Check the scan test says it passed.
  4. Download and print. Use SVG for print. Put it where guests sit or wait, with a line like "Scan to join our Wi-Fi".

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. The built-in camera on iPhones (iOS 11 and later) and most Android phones recognises Wi-Fi QR codes and offers to join the network. No app is needed.

Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password in a QR code?

The code is made in your browser and the password is never sent to us. But anyone who scans the code can join, the same as anyone who reads a password on a card. For guests, use a separate guest network rather than your main office network.

Changed the password?

A Wi-Fi code contains the password itself, so make and print a new code when you change it. Keep the old one out of sight.

Questions

Is this Wi-Fi QR code generator free?

Yes. It's free with no sign-up and no ads, and the code doesn't expire because the network details are stored inside the code itself.

Do you see my Wi-Fi password?

No. The code is made entirely in your browser. Nothing you type on this page is sent to QR Code Spot.

Why won't my phone join after scanning?

Check the network name and password match exactly, including capitals, and that the security type is right. Hidden networks need "Hidden network" ticked.

Can I add my logo to a Wi-Fi QR code?

Yes. Add your logo, choose original colours, monochrome or black and white, and check the scan test passes before you download.
