See how many people scan, without spying on them.
Every dynamic code gets its own analytics: total scans, scans per day, phone types and countries. Enough to tell if your poster works. Never who scanned.
Scans per day

What's counted
| We record | We never record |
|---|---|
| When the scan happened | Who scanned |
| The country, from the network | IP addresses |
| Phone type: iPhone, Android, desktop or other | Precise location or GPS |
| Which code was scanned | Cookies or identifiers on the scanner's phone |
Scanners aren't shown any banner or extra page: they go straight to your destination, and the scan is counted in the background so it never slows them down.
How to use the numbers
- Compare placements. Make separate codes for the window poster and the table card, then see which gets scanned.
- Check timing. The daily chart shows when people actually scan, so you know when the menu link matters most.
- Spot problems early. A code that suddenly stops getting scans may be damaged, covered or badly placed.
- See who you're reaching. Countries show whether a code at a resort reaches visitors from abroad or locals.
Already use web analytics?
Add UTM tags to the destination, like ?utm_source=qr&utm_medium=print, and visits from the code show up in your own analytics too. Because codes are dynamic, you can add or change tags after printing.
What's included free
During the launch, every account gets all four analytics views for all its codes, with unlimited scans. After the launch, the Free plan includes one view of your choice. See pricing.
Questions
Can I see who scanned my QR code?
No, and nobody can with QR Code Spot. We record the time, the country and the type of phone, but never names, IP addresses or anything that identifies a person.
Are link previews counted as scans?
No. When a link is pasted into apps like WhatsApp or Slack, their preview bots open it. We recognise and skip those so your numbers reflect real scans.
Can I track scans with Google Analytics too?
Yes. Add UTM tags to your destination, for example ?utm_source=qr&utm_medium=print&utm_campaign=menu, and your own analytics will show visits from the code.
How long is scan history kept?
For as long as the code exists. Deleting a code deletes its scan history.
