Print once. Change where it goes whenever you like.
A dynamic QR code holds a short link instead of your final web address. Point it at a new page any time, and every printed copy follows. You also see how many people scan it.
Static or dynamic: which do you need?
| Static code | Dynamic code | |
|---|---|---|
| What's inside | Your full web address | A short link, qrcodespot.com/r/… |
| Change it after printing | No | Yes |
| Count scans | No | Yes, by day, phone and country |
| Account needed | No | Yes, sign in with Google |
| Depends on a service | No, works forever | Yes, it forwards through qrcodespot.com |
| Cost here | Free | Free during launch (10 codes) |
Pick dynamic for anything that might change: menus, event pages, forms, offers and links on packaging. Pick static for something permanent, like your Wi-Fi details page or a home page that will never move.
Exactly what's free
- 10 dynamic codes per account during the launch.
- 20 destination changes a month. Renaming doesn't count.
- Unlimited scans, full analytics, PNG and SVG downloads in any colour.
- No ads on your codes, no card, no trial that runs out.
When the launch ends, the Free plan is 3 codes and 5 changes a month, with at least 30 days' email notice first. Codes you've already made keep working. The pricing page has the details.
How to change a printed code
- Sign in and open the code from My codes.
- Under Sends people to, enter the new web address.
- Save. Scanners go to the new page straight away. The code itself never changes, so there's nothing to reprint.
Safe for the people who scan
Codes forward straight to your page with no ads or waiting screens in between. We switch off codes that lead to scams or malware, and anyone can report a code.
Questions
What's the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?
A static QR code holds the final web address itself, so it can never change and can't count scans. A dynamic QR code holds a short link, which forwards to the address you choose. You can change the destination and see scan counts.
Do dynamic QR codes from QR Code Spot expire?
No. They keep working until you delete them. There's no trial, and codes aren't switched off if you don't pay after the launch.
Can I change a QR code after it's printed?
Yes, if it's dynamic. Open the code, enter a new web address and save. Every printed copy goes to the new page straight away.
How many times can I change it?
During the launch, 20 destination changes a month across all your codes. Renaming a code doesn't count.
