How to make one

  1. Choose your bank and enter the account number. The account the money should go to. Copy the number from your banking app rather than typing it from memory.
  2. Add an amount and a note, if you like. In dong, like 50000 or 50.000. A note, like an order or table number, shows with the transfer. Accents are left out, as banks expect.
  3. Download and test. Transfer a small amount to yourself from another bank's app and check the name it shows, before you print a batch.

What's inside the code

A VietQR code in the format NAPAS set for transfers between Vietnamese banks: your bank's code, the account number, the amount and note if you set them, and a checksum that lets the banking app spot a damaged code. There's no name inside: the payer's app looks up the name on the account and shows it before they confirm. It's made in your browser, so your account number isn't sent to us, and QR Code Spot never sees or handles the payment.

Which banks it works with

Nearly every banking app in Vietnam scans VietQR codes, and the money arrives within seconds. The bank list above has the banks that receive VietQR transfers; if yours isn't there, ask your bank for its own QR code instead.

Check it before printing

The code follows NAPAS's VietQR format. QR Code Spot isn't connected with NAPAS, the State Bank of Vietnam or any bank.

Questions

Is this VietQR code generator free?

Yes, with a free account and no card. There are no fees from us, and the code doesn't expire.

Which apps can pay with it?

The banking apps of nearly every bank in Vietnam, and e-wallets that pay VietQR transfers.

Can I set a fixed amount?

Yes. Enter it in dong, like 50000 or 50.000. The payer sees it filled in and just confirms.

Can I change the amount after printing?

No. The amount is inside the code. For changing prices, leave the amount empty, or make a new code.

Why are the accents gone from the note?

Transfers between Vietnamese banks carry the note as plain letters, so we take the accents off before a bank does it less neatly: "Đặt cọc" becomes "Dat coc".
